IN THE SOFTNESS OF DARK

In the softness of dark

I tremble

Nothing can stop me

Nothing can control

The unbearable escape

Of everything found,

with nothing to lose.

In the softness of dark

I weep

Nothing holds me

Nothing can console

The unfathomable sorrow

Of everything lost,

And never found.

In the softness of dark

Where time waits for no one,

Nothing stands in the way

Nothing can take back

What never belonged

To the hungry Reaper.

And in the softness of dark

the wind blows this night

And the storm doth scream

And nothing can hush it

And no one hears

The good soul that I am

Go out with a whimper . . .
